LIME SLAKING AND SLURRY DOSING
Lime is a primary input in mining, because the use of it is not only associated with the extraction of copper, gold and silver, but also with the smelting of metals.
Calcium hydroxide (Ca (OH) 2) is produced by reacting water (H2O) and quicklime (CaO) in a process called lime slaking. Its main use in mining is seen in the neutralization of pH in unit operations such as flotation.
This damper is equipped with a rotary feeder, the belt feeder, a water control panel for dosing the slaking water, dilution water, spray water and includes a modulating valve, flow meter, solenoid valves, valves Manuals and pressure reducing valve with each damper. It has a stirrer that vigorously mixes the water and quicklime continuously into a thick suspension. This allows the calcium oxide (quicklime) to react with the water to form calcium hydroxide.

It consists of a 150-ton silo, a screw system for lime feeding, an automatic lime slaker that works continuously, a gas scrubber, a post-dilution tank, a peristaltic transfer pump to carry the slurry to a storage tank, which distributes to the entire 550 flotation area of the Tambomayo mine located in Tapay, Arequipa at 4800 meters above sea level.
It has a double system of BIG BAG Sodimate bag unloaders. This system has dosing screws and vertical screws for lime transport, a storage silo and a lime dilution tank. This system guarantees pollution control in automatic operation.
